About me

Hi, I’m Ilija Stanojevic, a FIDE Master from Serbia, and I’m here to help you elevate your chess game. My approach focuses on two main areas: mindset and skills. I help players build a positive, growth-oriented mindset, allowing them to perform under tournament pressure, recover from losses, and come back even stronger. On the skills side, I work on mastering tactics, strategy, and endgames, while helping you stay mentally sharp and focused during your games. Additionally, I help you create or refine an opening repertoire that fits your unique style. Together, we’ll work to unlock your full potential and improve your chess.

About approach

Each lesson is carefully designed to improve the player and be completely personalized to the student’s needs. During our first sessions, we focus on identifying the student’s weaknesses, which allows me to map out a clear plan for their development. This gives me immediate insight into the areas that require attention, and we begin working on them right away. One of the main exercises we focus on during the first lessons is identifying both tactical and strategic moments in the game. By developing this skill early on, we can ensure the student starts recognizing critical moments during their games, which helps them make better decisions and improve their overall performance.
